My Story of Independence Through Mushroom

I’m Shrimoti Mioti Pangshu of Mopur Village in Dimoria Block of Kamrup district in Assam.I Have studied till class IX on 14th of November 2006 at about 8 am in the morning some people from an organization named Mushroom Development Fundation came to our house and asked us on our life and livelihood.

 

From 20 bags in 2007 today i have built up a house with the capacity of 400-500 bags and in the last 4-5 years every has been earning more and more. I am having an income of Rupees Twenty Thousand to Thirty thousand in the last 4 years 4-5 months in a year. In 2020 i am having a profit of 3 lakhs by selling both fresh and dry mushrooms.

“i am so proud to show mushroom firm to people today. It has given me a unique identity and raised my selfeteem.
I want other youth to take it up and i am ready to help them.”

Today i can stay at home help my sister cook food and alo enjoy with guest as mushroom farm is giving me income
at home itself. I have become a responsible and more respected sister and daughter in my family. Now a new responsibility has come from my initiative with MDF. I am supposed to organize the collection and distribution center of my village, constructed by the Directorate of Horticulture Govt. of Assam. Many youth came to my home for training, I provide them training on Mushroom cultivation.Now i am selling my mushrooms in hotels, restaurants, canteens. I am selling more then 30kg mushrooms daily.
